We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team of educators.

Job Description:

As a Teaching Assistant at Small Steps Nursery, you will play a key role in supporting classroom teachers and ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey. You will assist in implementing daily lesson plans, creating engaging learning experiences, and maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include helping children with daily routines, setting up learning materials, and assisting in creative and play-based activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining classroom hygiene and safety, monitoring children’s progress, and reporting observations to the lead teacher. A compassionate attitude, patience, and genuine love for working with young children are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher in lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Assist children in developing basic skills such as language, numeracy, and social interaction.
• Help organize classroom activities, materials, and play areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Observe and report children’s development and behavior to the teacher.

Qualifications and Skills:

• CACHE Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent early years qualification).
• Prior experience in a nursery or preschool setting (preferred).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Friendly, patient, and nurturing personality.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
