Job Description:

GEMS Wellington Academy in Dubai is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support classroom teaching and enhance students’ learning experiences. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to helping students achieve academic success in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

The Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers to ensure lessons are delivered effectively and students remain engaged throughout the school day. You will play an important role in supporting learning activities and promoting a positive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers during daily lessons by assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Provide individual and small-group support to students who require additional academic guidance or encouragement.
• Help students understand instructions and lesson objectives while promoting confidence and independence.
• Prepare and organise teaching materials and classroom resources in advance of lessons.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-structured learning environment that supports effective teaching and learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and participation by reinforcing classroom routines and school expectations.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks, including record keeping, organising displays, and preparing learning aids.
• Supervise students during breaks, transitions, assemblies, and school activities to ensure safety and well-being.
• Observe student progress and behaviour and communicate relevant feedback to classroom teachers.

Skills and Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children.
• Patience, responsibility, and a positive attitude toward student development.
• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is preferred but not essential.
• A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or teaching support will be considered an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow teacher guidance.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment.
