Located in the heart of Dubai Science Park, Holiday Inn & Suites offers a contemporary setting for travelers. The newly opened hotel includes 240 rooms and suites, 84 one-bedroom apartments, and offers extensive event facilities. We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef – Main Kitchen to join our team and contribute to our culinary excellence.
As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in ensuring high standards in kitchen operations and food preparation:
Menu Planning & Costing: Participate in the planning and costing of menus, ensuring balance and creativity in offerings.
Budget Management: Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and management of the department’s budget.
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
Team Supervision & Training: Support, train, and supervise kitchen staff to adhere to recipes, cooking techniques, and safety standards. Foster a positive and productive team environment.
Menu Development: Assist in creating and developing menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and guest feedback.
Quality Control: Monitor the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet restaurant quality standards. Address any issues promptly to maintain consistency.
Inventory & Order Management: Oversee inventory levels and manage orders to ensure adequate supplies, control food costs, and minimize waste.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Maintain cleanliness and enforce hygiene practices among staff.
Operational Support: Manage kitchen operations during service periods, ensuring timely meal preparation and resolution of any issues. Work closely with the Executive Chef and front-of-house staff for smooth communication and coordination.
Educational Background: Diploma degree or higher education in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in a similar role with supervisory experience in all kitchen areas.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
Proficiency in budgeting and cost control.
In-depth culinary knowledge, including culinary techniques, food trends, and menu development.
Outstanding administrative, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience in Arabic cuisine is a plus.
