We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef with expertise in Chinese wok cooking techniques to join our dynamic kitchen team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both traditional and modern Chinese cuisine, along with proficiency in high-heat wok cooking. You will support the Executive Chef in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, delivering exceptional food quality, and maintaining a high standard of service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision.
Execute high-level wok cooking (stir-frying, deep-frying, braising, steaming) with speed, precision, and consistency.
Maintain the highest culinary standards by ensuring dishes meet taste, presentation, and hygiene requirements.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, particularly in wok techniques and Chinese cuisine.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and help manage food costs.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations in the kitchen.
Participate in the development and testing of new menu items, especially Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes.
Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.
Experience: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook, ideally in a Chinese or Asian restaurant.
Technical Skills: Mastery of Chinese wok cooking techniques, including stir-frying, deep-frying, braising, and steaming.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Chinese ingredients, sauces, and regional cuisines (e.g., Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan).
Leadership: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Certifications: Food safety certification is a plus.

Experience: Sous Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
