Role Overview

Teaching Assistants (LSAs) at JESS play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and development, collaborating closely with teachers and inclusion staff to ensure high standards of education, wellbeing, and inclusion. The role also supports classroom preparation, curriculum delivery, and student supervision.

Core Responsibilities

Supporting Students

  • Work with individual students or small groups under teacher direction

  • Support access to lessons through clarification and adapted resources

  • Assist students with learning differences or special educational needs

  • Encourage independence and give timely feedback

  • Ensure safety, behavior standards, and a tidy learning environment

  • Provide personal care support if needed

Supporting the Class Teacher

  • Assist in preparing and organizing classroom materials

  • Record observations and communicate student progress

  • Collaborate in lesson support and planning

Curriculum Support

  • Deliver targeted support sessions

  • Help organize teaching resources

  • Support data collection and analysis

  • Use assistive technologies and provide exam access assistance where needed

Student Wellbeing and Safeguarding

  • Promote and safeguard student welfare

  • Follow child protection procedures and report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer

  • Encourage positive peer interactions

Other Duties

  • Attend school events, training, and meetings

  • Supervise students during breaks, trips, and special events

  • Communicate appropriately with parents when necessary

  • Follow JESS and Ministry of Education codes of conduct

Key Requirements

  • Preferably CACHE Level 3 qualification or equivalent

  • Recent classroom-based experience in a school setting

  • Passion for education and inclusion

  • Must be locally available in Dubai with valid spouse sponsorship
