Role Overview:

The People and Culture Officer will be responsible for supporting all HR functions across the school. This includes recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and compliance with employment law. The role requires someone with strong communication skills, empathy, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and Onboarding

• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes in compliance with UAE labor laws
• Coordinate new staff onboarding and orientation sessions with senior leadership

2. HR Administration

• Maintain and update accurate employee records in line with data protection laws
• Draft employment contracts, offer letters, and official HR documents
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures

3. Performance Management

• Oversee the performance appraisal system
• Support managers with feedback processes, improvement plans, and disciplinary procedures

4. Employee Relations

• Mediate conflicts and support a collaborative work culture
• Ensure policies are legally compliant and up to date
• Foster high expectations and support positive morale among staff

5. Training and Development

• Identify staff training needs in collaboration with department heads
• Coordinate workshops and promote a culture of professional development

6. Benefits Administration

• Manage employee benefits such as insurance, leave, and other entitlements
• Liaise with external providers to maintain competitive offerings

Required Skills:

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (iSAMS knowledge is a plus)
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
• Professional, empathetic, and diplomatic when handling confidential matters
• Ability to provide sound HR guidance and support
• Awareness of changes in UAE labour laws and best practices

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field
• Recognised HR qualification or certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR support role
• Familiarity with UAE Labour Law is desirable
• Experience using HRMS systems is an advantage
