We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Officer – Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) to join our Compliance team. The role involves conducting robust due diligence reviews on high-risk clients, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks, and supporting the Bank’s efforts in combating financial crime. The officer will work closely with various departments and contribute to maintaining CBD’s strong risk management and compliance culture.
Conduct comprehensive reviews of high-risk customers annually and upon trigger events.
Analyze KYC data, identify gaps, and update information in line with internal KYC/ODD policies.
Collaborate with Business units to obtain necessary documentation for completing due diligence reviews.
Document findings, justify decisions, and ensure all actions are audit-traceable.
Work with the Sanctions Screening Team on newly identified PEPs.
Facilitate PEP assessments with the Business and obtain necessary senior management approvals.
Maintain an up-to-date PEP register and ensure accurate customer marking in core systems.
Identify red flags or financial crime concerns and recommend appropriate actions including relationship exits.
Escalate heightened risk cases and ensure they are aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and compliance policies.
Apply exception handling procedures where required information is unavailable.
Ensure accurate and secure storage of KYC documentation.
Provide timely, accurate reporting on AML/CFT risks and due diligence activities to the Manager.
Support compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations, AML/CTF laws, and international standards.
Liaise regularly with departments such as Credit, Operations, Branches, and Business Units.
Ensure smooth coordination with internal stakeholders to complete due diligence reviews within defined timelines.
Serve as a key point of contact for queries related to high-risk client management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (mandatory).
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in banking or financial services.
Hands-on exposure to Due Diligence, Compliance, or AML/KYC processes.
Experience in either First Line (Business) or Second Line of Defense (Compliance) is preferred.
Strong understanding of KYC/CDD/EDD regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex customer profiles.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset.
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple ongoing cases.
