Level 2 Teaching Assistant Full Time

Job Purpose:

Support teachers with various tasks, assist in classroom activities, and occasionally supervise groups or classes as needed. Uphold GEMS Core Values and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with reading-related and other educational activities.
• Conduct small group sessions as directed.
• Prepare, organize, and tidy classroom materials and displays.
• Photocopy, prepare worksheets, and manage administrative tasks.
• Supervise classes for short periods during emergencies.
• Maintain and distribute stock supplies.
• Assist children with personal needs, such as toileting and cleaning.
• Gain familiarity with curriculum elements like literacy, numeracy, and phonetics.
• Ensure adherence to GEMS policies and uphold confidentiality.
• Attend meetings, participate in committees, and contribute additional effort when required.

Skills & Requirements:

• Strong command of English (spoken and written) and good general education in Math and English.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in ICT (preferred).
• Ability to work under pressure and relate well to children and colleagues.
• Prior experience as a teaching assistant or working with children is preferred.
