Position Summary:
Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel company, is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide administrative support within the Law Department for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The role involves assisting attorneys across various legal areas such as Development, Franchise, Operations, and Asset Management. The ideal candidate will ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and efficiency in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support: Provide direct support to up to 5 attorneys within the EMEA team, including preparing, editing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.

Document Management: Prepare, format, proofread, and manage legal documents, including execution documents, powers of attorney, and various business-related documents.

Transaction Closings: Prepare for transaction closings by managing execution documents and coordinating with signatories.

Organizational Support: Track project statuses, maintain up-to-date files (both digital and paper-based), and enter data into databases (i.e., iManage).

Coordination and Scheduling: Handle travel arrangements, meeting scheduling, and logistics including transportation, reservations, visas, lodging, and expense reports. Organize conference rooms, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes when necessary.

Legal Document Handling: Ensure the efficient execution of legal documents, including handling and sending original legal materials through couriers.

Database Management: Manage and update the practice area’s contract database and assist in maintaining documents on Sharepoint.

Team Collaboration: Provide support to the executive assistant/team leader and collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members for efficient workflow.
Requirements for Position:

Experience: Minimum of three years of secretarial or administrative experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.

Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Teams, Sharepoint, and iManage (or ability to learn).

Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading, grammar, and word processing skills.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong time management and organizational skills with a professional demeanor.

Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Communication: Excellent English skills (both written and verbal).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
