Kitchen Production Assistant Full Time

About the Role

Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commis Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you’ll assist in food preparation, maintain high kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure consistent food quality and presentation that meets Sheraton’s global hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, washing, and storing fresh produce.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and plate dishes as per menu specifications and presentation guidelines.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and microwaves.
• Monitor food quality during preparation to ensure freshness and proper temperature control.
• Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently before and after shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and support the culinary team to achieve service excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar culinary or food preparation role.
• Skills: Basic cooking techniques, food hygiene knowledge, and kitchen equipment handling.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Other: Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to all company policies.
