Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Commis 1 to join our culinary team at Hotel Local. This role involves assisting senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The position provides an excellent opportunity for growth and learning in a dynamic, high-end hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing ingredients for dishes to ensure all components are ready for service.

Work under the guidance of the Chef de Partie to prepare, cook, and plate food according to the hotel’s high standards.

Rotate between various kitchen sections (meat, fish, pastry, vegetables) to gain experience and develop new culinary skills.

Assist with inventory control, managing stock rotation, and alerting senior chefs when supplies are running low.

Follow hygiene and safety protocols in the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health regulations.

Ensure all dishes meet the hotel’s quality standards in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times.

Actively seek feedback from senior chefs and take the initiative to improve culinary techniques.
Desired Skills & Expertise:

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel, as a Commis 1.
