Position Overview

Dar Al Marefa Private School is seeking a passionate and experienced English Language & Literature Teacher to deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging, inquiry-based instruction while upholding academic excellence, promoting holistic development, and cultivating a warm yet challenging classroom environment.

We are looking for an educator who not only possesses a deep love for language and literature but also has the dedication to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity in every learner. You will play a pivotal role in shaping confident, culturally aware, and globally minded students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the IB MYP/DP English curriculum.
• Plan differentiated, student-centered lessons that support diverse learning needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports each student’s right to learn.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leaders, and parents to ensure a supportive and engaging learning journey.
• Contribute to assessment planning, reporting, and student progress tracking.
• Participate in extra-curricular activities and support the broader life of the school.
• Uphold the values and mission of Dar Al Marefa in all aspects of teaching and community involvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major in English Language & Literature (or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification such as a PGCE, Bachelor of Education, or SACE certification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably within an IB World School.
• Proven track record of delivering outstanding student outcomes.
• Solid understanding of the IB MYP and DP frameworks and inquiry-based teaching.
• Proficient in educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and school improvement.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to extra-curricular programs and student well-being.
