Department Chef Full Time

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to take charge of a specific section within our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will ensure that all dishes are prepared efficiently, consistently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage your assigned kitchen section (e.g., Grill, Pastry, Sauce, or Larder).
• Prepare and cook dishes following recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure that all meals meet quality and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in your section according to food safety regulations.
• Control inventory, minimize waste, and assist with supply ordering as needed.
• Support, train, and mentor junior chefs and commis team members.
• Work collaboratively with the entire kitchen and service team to ensure smooth operations.
• Uphold all health and safety and HACCP standards at all times.
• Contribute ideas to menu development and seasonal updates.
• Remain calm and efficient under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar culinary role.
• Formal culinary education or professional training preferred.
• Sound knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and international cuisine.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP regulations (HACCP certification required).
• Excellent teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with a genuine passion for food and presentation.
• Physically fit to handle the demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
