Position Summary:
Marriott International is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide direct administrative support to attorneys within the EMEA team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the legal department, particularly in preparing, editing, and proofreading legal documents. The position is based in Dubai, UAE, and reports directly to a VP & Senior Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support: Assist up to 5 attorneys in areas like Development, Franchise, Operations, Asset Management, and other legal sectors.

Document Preparation: Compose, type, merge, compare, format, proofread, and transmit legal documents and correspondence.

Transaction Closings: Assist with preparation and editing of execution documents and powers of attorney for transaction closings.

Document Editing: Prepare and edit legal documents, presentations, agendas, memos, letters, spreadsheets, and other business materials.

Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information and protect the privacy and security of business parties, customers, and colleagues.

Project Tracking: Track project statuses, correspondence requiring responses, and keep attorneys updated.

Document Execution: Coordinate with signatories and ensure the proper execution of legal documents.

Filing Systems: Organize and maintain paper and digital filing systems for records, reports, and documents.

Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between attorneys, staff, and outside counsel.

Scheduling: Organize and schedule meetings, conference calls, and manage high-priority scheduling. Prepare for group meetings and handle logistics.

Travel Arrangements: Manage travel logistics, including transportation, reservations, visas, and lodging.

Miscellaneous Duties: Ensure office supplies are available and in working order. Perform additional duties as required and provide cover for other Legal Assistants when needed.
Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.

Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Teams/SharePoint, and iManage or similar databases.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive in identifying and resolving issues.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Impeccable professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent (secondary education required).
