About the Role

As a Collecting Officer, you will perform specimen collections (primarily urine and breath, and potentially oral fluid or hair) at various locations across Dubai and occasionally in other Emirates. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and professionalism in all collection activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collections according to Abbott procedures and client requirements.
• Adhere strictly to collection protocols to ensure chain-of-custody integrity.
• Participate in the 24-hour on-call rota when required.
• Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to coordinate the testing program.
• Stay current with process updates and attend mandatory audits/training.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
• Qualifications & Requirements
• Education & Experience:
• Diploma/Degree in Health Sciences or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• 2–3 years of experience in specimen collection or a related laboratory field.
• Familiarity with standard UAE health regulations and medical practices.
• Technical Skills:
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license preferred — or eligibility to obtain one.
• Ability to pass security clearances, including those for airlines and airport access.
• Soft Skills:
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable.
• Able to follow set protocols and manage time effectively.
• Flexible and willing to travel within the UAE as needed.
