Position Overview:

The Assistant Head for Early Years plays a vital leadership role in the Phases 1 & 2 Leadership Team, ensuring high standards in teaching, student well-being, citizenship promotion, and transition across learning pathways. The role is ideal for experienced leaders passionate about early childhood education and bilingual learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Early Years curriculum development, instruction, and assessment strategies.

• Support student wellbeing and create a nurturing learning environment.

• Promote global citizenship and cultural awareness.

• Oversee student learning pathways, transitions, and progression from PreKG onwards.

• Uphold SISD’s values and conduct in line with its professional and ethical standards.

Candidate Requirements:

• Educational Background:

  • Degree in Education

  • Professional leadership qualification related to the role

• Experience:

  • Significant international leadership experience in Early Years education

  • Preferably with IB PYP delivery experience

  • Desirable: Experience with bilingual or multilingual education

• Languages:

  • English is essential

  • Additional languages (French, German, Arabic) highly desirable

• Professional Traits:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment
