Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will lead the design, development, and scaling of Rapyd’s global cloud infrastructure. You will drive cloud transformation initiatives, architect AWS-based systems (and multi-cloud environments), enforce security and governance, and ensure infrastructure performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Architect scalable, secure, and highly available solutions on AWS and other public clouds (Azure, GCP).

Develop and lead cloud migration strategies from on-premises infrastructure.

Design and implement multi-account AWS architecture, VPCs, IAM policies, and shared services.

Define cloud standards, governance models, and reusable patterns across environments.

Collaborate across DevOps, Application, and Security teams to enable infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and observability.

Optimize for cloud cost, performance, and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ISO, and internal security standards.

Evaluate third-party services and cloud-native tools to enhance architecture.

Act as a technical advisor to leadership on strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

8+ years in cloud architecture/infrastructure roles.

Expert in AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.

Proven experience with cloud migration strategies: rehost, replatform, refactor.

Strong command of Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of Zero Trust security, encryption practices, and infrastructure governance.

Experience with container orchestration (EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes).

Familiarity with observability tools: CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, etc.

Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in fintech, payments, or other regulated industries.

Familiarity with edge/cloud security (e.g., Cloudflare, WAF, API gateways).

Experience with hybrid cloud setups, Direct Connect, or MPLS integration.
